Kanban and List Views

OpenIssue Team

Different people prefer different ways to browse information. OpenIssue offers both Kanban and List views, letting your community choose what works best for them.

Kanban View

The classic visual approach. Issues are organized into columns based on their workflow stage:

  • Backlog - Ideas and requests waiting to be prioritized
  • In Progress - Features currently being worked on
  • Done - Completed items

Visual at a Glance

The Kanban view gives an instant overview of your development progress. Visitors can see how much is in progress, what's completed, and what's coming next.

Stage Customization

Customize the colors and icons for each workflow stage to match your brand and terminology.

List View

For those who prefer a more structured approach:

  • Compact display - See more issues at once
  • Easy scanning - Perfect for searching through large boards
  • Table-like layout - Familiar interface for data-driven users

Sorting Options

Both views support powerful sorting:

  • Created date - Newest or oldest first
  • Updated date - Most recently active issues
  • Title - Alphabetical organization
  • Votes - Most popular issues at the top

Sort ascending or descending with a single click.

Search and Filter

Find specific issues quickly:

  • Search by title, description, or issue identifier
  • Filter by labels
  • Real-time results as you type

Persistent Preferences

OpenIssue remembers each visitor's view preference. If someone prefers List view, they'll see List view every time they return.

Responsive Design

Both views work beautifully on mobile devices. Your community can browse your roadmap from any device, anywhere.
